Workshop 1
What are the benefits of archaeology for tourism and of tourism for archaeology?

The participants will make a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats).

Workshop 2
Let’s develop one or more Swiss archaeological products to offer tourism partners in Switzerland, where archaeology and tourism come together (such as a day trip “An archaeological excursion around Switzerland”).

Workshop 3
PR and marketing of archaeological sites:

The European Federation of Cluniac Monastic Sites is an excellent example of marketing at a European scale. It offers a highly original presentation of Medieval monasteries to as broad a public as possible, while respecting important archaeological remains.

Workshop 4
Authenticity - Culture and Traditions

For its publicity campaign for summer 2013, Swiss Tourism is emphasising the themes of authenticity, tradition and customs. The strong links between tourism, traditions and customs provide a great opportunity for Swiss Tourism, for local populations and for the preservation of our traditional culture. Archaeology plays an important role within this framework. During the workshop, the archaeologists and tourism professionals will discuss these different themes and together develop ideas for projects and how they can be achieved.
